Before School Care (BCS) & After School Care (ASC)

 

BEFORE SCHOOL CARE (BSC) The before school care program operates from 7-8.45am on the grounds of Beacon Hill Public School (106 childcare places). Children begin their day with arts & games before enjoying breakfast and then they go off to school.

 

AFTER SCHOOL CARE (ASC) The after school program operates from 3:00 - 6:30 pm at Beacon Hill Public School (106 childcare places). Children enjoy a varied & delicious afternoon tea before beginning the afternoon's activities. Children are encouraged to choose how they would like to spend their leisure time from the sports, crafts, and activities on offer.

 

Homework Club

The homework club is where children who attend after school care can do their homework in a time frame that is set aside from distractions and can be done in a nurturing way.

 

We have staff who will be involved in the homework club so any child that may have problems understanding their homework or is struggling, your child will be in safe, encouraging hands. We do not teach your child but we strive in getting the best out of your child while doing homework.

 

This service is aimed at assisting those parents who wish homework to be done early in the afternoon rather than late at night. We encourage the children to read to parents their readers again as this will encourage confidence in reading. Homework Club is only on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Homework club occurs start straight after afternoon tea. Parents need to sign their children up on a registration form and choose the days they want them to do homework.

FEE STRUCTURE

The parent committee aims to keep fees comparable to other area services. Permanent rates are charged for days that stay the same from week to week, while casual rates apply to days booked as a “one off” or on an irregular basis.

CHILD CARE Benefit (CCB) & Child Care Rebate (CCR)

Child Care Benefit (CCB) will reduce the fees paid by families. Families whose children attend child care at registered and accredited centres are entitled to CCB and CCR. The 50% Child Care Tax Rebate is not income tested and families can nominate the following options:

 

• Weekly/Fortnightly payment to the service as a fee reduction

• Weekly/Fortnightly payment direct to the family bank account

• Quarterly payments direct to the family bank account

• Annual payment direct to the family bank account
